India has added the 58th tiger reserve to its tally with the latest entrant being Madhav National Park in Madhya Pradesh.
The expansion of such reserves underscores the country's commitment to provide extensive and diverse habitats for the big cats.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the state's ninth tiger reserve.
He personally released a tiger into the reserve to mark the occasion—an emotional and symbolic act aimed at reinforcing India’s commitment to protecting its magnificent big cats.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also attended the event, adding to the significance of the day.
About Madhav National Park
Madhav National Park is situated in Shivpuri District of Gwalior division in northwest Madhya Pradesh, India. Two national highways pass through the park, the Agra to Bombay former National Highway 3 and the Jhansi to Shivpuri National Highway 27.
