On June 18, 2024, Army Hospital (Research & Referral) in New Delhi announced the inauguration of a state-of-the-art skin bank facility, the first of its kind within the Armed Forces Medical Services. This groundbreaking initiative aims to transform the treatment of severe burn injuries and other skin-related conditions for service members and their families.

The new skin bank will act as a centralised hub for collecting, processing, storing, and distributing skin grafts, providing a vital resource for military medical centers nationwide.
This facility ensures that personnel and their families have access to the most advanced skin replacement therapies available.
