Context: Recently, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions issued the guidelines for the 28th National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2025.
It is recognized amongst the most competitive and prestigious digital governance awards schemes in the country.
The scheme aims to recognize and promote exceptional efforts in implementing e-Governance initiatives across the country.
Nodal Ministry - The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions will be responsible for overseeing the NAeG Awards 2025.
Trophy, Certificate and an incentive of Rs 10 lakh for Gold Awardees and Rs 5 Lakhs for Silver Awardees to be awarded to the District/organization for being utilized for implementation of project/programme or bridging resources gaps in any area of public welfare.
This year 16 Awards are being conferred under the NAeG 2025. Of these 10 will be Gold Awards and 6 will be silver Awards.
Government Process Re-engineering - Recognizing the use of technology to drive digital transformation in government processes.
Innovation Using AI and Emerging Technologies - Highlighting citizen-centric services powered by artificial intelligence and other new-age technologies.
Cybersecurity - Awarding best practices and innovations in e-Governance related to cybersecurity.
Grassroots-Level Initiatives - Acknowledging efforts at the district, urban local body (ULB), or Gram Panchayat level to expand or deepen service delivery.
Replication of Successful Projects - Recognizing the scaling up and replication of successful e-Governance initiatives, such as NAeG, Prime Minister’s Awards, or awards by other Central Ministries.
Data Analytics in Digital Platforms - Encouraging digital transformation using data analytics, particularly by Central Ministries, States, and Union Territories.
