Direction: Study the following information and answer the given questions.
Six persons A, B, C, D, E and F are living in a building of six floors. Each of these persons likes different items Silk, Wool, Button, Cotton, Linen and Satin but not necessarily in the same order. The bottom floor of the building as numbered as 1 and the floor above it was numbered as 2 and so on. There are 2 floors between one who likes Silk and one who likes Satin. There were three floor between A and the one who likes Linen. A lives above the one who likes Linen. D is just below the one who likes Satin. C lives just above one who likes Linen. F likes Wool and there were 3 floors between F and B. There were 2 floor between E and the one who likes Button. The one who likes Button lives on floor no 1.
Who likes Linen?
A
B
C
D
E
- We need to arrange individuals A, B, C, D, E, F on floors 1 to 6 with their preferred items: Silk, Wool, Button, Cotton, Linen, and Satin.
- The Button is on floor 1.
- Two floors separate Silk and Satin.
- The person who likes Linen is three floors apart from A, and A lives above them.
- D is directly below Satin.
- C is directly above Linen.
- F likes Wool and is three floors apart from B.
- E is two floors away from the Button floor, which is floor 1.
Given these rules:
- Satin must be on one of the top floors as D is just below.
- With three floors between F and B, possible combinations must fit within the floors.
- Analyzing all constraints, we deduce that D likes Linen.
Option 4: D likes Linen.
