Directions: Answer the question based on the information given below: X men can complete a work in Y days. Y women can complete the work in X days. 20 men and 16 women working together can complete the same work in 53 1/3 days.
15 Men and 12 Women can complete the work in how many days?
72 2/5
72 1/5
71 /3/7
71 1/9
75 1/3
X men can complete the work in Y days, 1 man can complete the whole work in XY days. Y women can complete the work in X days, 1 woman can complete the whole work in XY days.
So, Total work=XY and efficiency of each=1. It is given that 20 men and 16 women can complete the work in 53 1/3 days = 160/3 days. So,
Efficiency of 20 men and 16 women=36
Total work=efficiency x Time=36 x 160/3 =1920
So the total work is 1920.
15 Men and 12 Women efficiency=15+12=27
Time taken to complete the work =total work/efficiency=1920/27=71 1/9
