The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is organizing its 18th Raising Day function on 19th January 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

• Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Nityanand Rai will be the Chief Guest on the occasion and will award medals to NDRF Rescuers.
• NDRF was raised on 19th January 2006 as a multi-skilled stand-alone Disaster Response Force to respond to all natural and man-made disasters.
• It attends various disasters including Collapsed Structure Search & Rescue Ops during earthquakes and landslides, Flood Water Rescue including cyclones, Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear contingencies and Medical emergencies etc.
• It is strategically deployed across the country with 16 Battalions and 28 Regional Response Centers. NDRF Academy is located at Nagpur.
• In a short span of time, NDRF has proved itself as a vibrant and efficient Force of the country which provides prompt assistance to the States in any disaster.
