PASSAGE ON PM KISAN SCHEME
All landholder farmers’ families in the country are eligible for the PM-Kisan Scheme, except (2 mark)
1. All Institutional Land holders
2. Former and present holders of constitutional posts
3. All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments
4. All Persons who paid Income Tax in last assessment year.
5. Professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with Professional bodies and carrying out profession by undertaking practices.
1, 2, 3 and 4 only
1, 2, 3 and 5 only
1, 2, 4 and 5 only
2, 3, 4 and 5 only
All of the above
Here’s what you need to know:
- The PM-Kisan Scheme is for all landholding farmer families, but with some clear exceptions.
- These exceptions are:
1. All Institutional Land holders (for example, companies or committees, not individuals)
2. Former and present holders of constitutional posts (think President, Governors, etc.)
3. All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments and their connected offices, PSUs, and local bodies (so regular government servants, not allowed)
4. All persons who paid Income Tax in the last assessment year (if you paid income tax last year, you’re out)
5. Professionals actively practicing as Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects, who are registered with Professional bodies (if you work as one of these, you’re not eligible—even if you farm)
- Now, look at the options:
- Option 1 leaves out professionals. That’s not right.
- Option 2 leaves out income tax payees. That's not right.
- Option 3 covers Institutional Land holders, constitutional post holders, income tax payees, and professionals—exactly the ones specifically excluded by the scheme.
- Option 4 leaves out Institutional landholders. So, not complete.
- Option 5 says all are excluded. Not true, because serving/retired government servants are not always excluded if they’re below certain levels.
So, Option:3 - 1, 2, 4 and 5 only is the correct answer.
