Direction: Study the following information and answer the questions given below.
Seven people P, Q, R, S, T, U, and V are from seven different countries India, Brazil, China, USA, UAE, UK, and Russia not necessarily in the same order. Each one of them works in the same company but on different designation i.e. Chief Executive Officer ( CEO), Chairman, Manager, Deputy Manager (DM), Assistant Manager (AM), Assistant and Clerk. These ranks are given in descending order (ex. CEO is the senior and Clerk is the junior).
P is senior to V but he is neither CEO nor Manager. U is senior to R who is not from UAE. Two designations are between Q and the one who is from Brazil. P is from China and immediate senior to the one who is from UAE. Q is a junior to the AM and he is from Russia. More than four people are senior to S. The number of people who are senior to the one who is from Brazil is the same as the number of people junior to V. T is from the USA and is junior to one who is from India.
How many persons are senior to T?
1
2
3
4
None
Let’s break down the facts:
- P is senior to V but isn’t CEO or Manager. P is from China and is immediately above UAE.
- U is senior to R (who isn’t from UAE).
- Q is junior to the Assistant Manager (AM) and from Russia. There are two designations between Q and the person from Brazil.
- More than four people (so, at least five) are senior to S.
- The number of people senior to the one from Brazil equals those junior to V.
- T is from the USA and is junior to the person from India.
Let's try arranging the ranks (CEO > Chairman > Manager > DM > AM > Assistant > Clerk)
From constraints:
- S is at least 6th or 7th (since at least five above, so S must be Assistant or Clerk).
- If Q is under AM, that means Q could be Assistant or Clerk.
- T can't be at the top, since someone from India is above him.
Now, the key comparison: How many are senior to T?
If you actually draw out the ordering, you’ll find:
- The only possible spot for T (with all constraints met) is in the Assistant Manager or Assistant rank. But with the placement, there are actually three people above T.
So, the correct option is:
Option:3, 3
Here’s the thing:
- Option 1 (1 senior) doesn’t fit once you map everyone according to the clues.
- Option 3 is correct, because you’ll always have three people above T once you fit in the info.
So, the right answer is: 3 people are senior to T.
