6 persons A, B, C, D, E and F are sitting in a row facing north (not necessarily in the same order). A is the immediate neighbour

of D and F. F is the immediate neighbour of E and A. B is in the second position from the right end. If D is not at any of the ends,

then how many persons are sitting towards the left of D?

- Six people are sitting in a row facing north: A, B, C, D, E, F.

- D is not at any end. This places D in positions 2 to 5.

- B is in the second position from the right end: [_, _, _, B, _, _].

- A is the immediate neighbor of D and F. Therefore, possible positions for A are determined.

- F, an immediate neighbor of E and A, further narrows the arrangement.

Building the sequence:

- If B is second from the right, then arrange D, A, F, E in remaining slots: [F, A, D, C, B, E].

- Count to the left of D gives us three positions.
