Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, along with MoS Jayant Chaudhary, inaugurated the Agricultural Technology Innovation Centre at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (SVPUAT) in Meerut.

The centre, in collaboration with IIT Ropar, aims to revolutionize Indian agriculture through cutting-edge technologies such as AI, IoT, and smart irrigation.

Key Highlights:

• The Agritech Innovation Hub, launched on July 8, 2025, will provide farmers with AI-based crop monitoring, real-time data on rainfall, and market intelligence via mobile apps.
• It has been established in partnership with IIT Ropar, which has provided Rs. 75 lakh worth of advanced equipment and technological support.
• The centre will facilitate collaboration among farmers, startups, technologists, researchers, and policymakers to create scalable agri-tech solutions.
• Smart farm demonstrations showcased the use of sensors, automation, and data analytics for improving productivity and sustainability.
• Progressive farmers were honored for adopting innovation, and agritech startups exhibited their products and services during the event.
