Why in News?

=> Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan inaugurated the first state-level virtual postage stamp exhibition 'Bihar Digipax'.

Key Points:

=> The exhibition is being organized by Bihar Postal Circle from February 24 to 27 with the theme 'Rich Cultural Heritage of India'.

=> The objective of this philately exhibition is to promote the hobby of philately as well as provide an opportunity to philatelists, especially budding and young philatelists and students to showcase their collections.

=> In order to encourage philately, the Department of Posts under the Ministry of Communications of the Central Government had started 'Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana'.

=> This is a scholarship scheme for school children from all over India. Under this scheme, scholarships are given annually to those children of classes VI to IX, who have good academic results and who have chosen philately as an interest.
