Satish Kumar, an Indian Railway Management Service officer, has been appointed as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board, effective from September 1.

• He succeeds Jaya Verma Sinha.
• He is a 1986 batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) and has had a distinguished 34-year career with Indian Railways.
• Notably, he took charge as the General Manager of North Central Railway, Prayagraj, on November 8, 2022, a significant milestone in his service.
