Directions: The following table shows the number of girls students and average number of boys and girls students studying in five different institutions A, B, C, D and E.
Name of the institutions Number of girls Average number of boys and girls
A 80 110
B 90 140
C 60 80
D 60 96
E 40 48
If 1/3rd, 2/3rd, 1/6th of the girls studying in institution B, C and D respectively are from CSE department then find the ratio between number of girls studying CSE department in institution B and C to the girls studying in institution D in CSE department .
5: 1
5: 2
7: 1
6: 1
7: 2
- Institution B: Total girls = 90. Girls in CSE = 1/3 of 90 = 30.
- Institution C: Total girls = 60. Girls in CSE = 2/3 of 60 = 40.
- Institution D: Total girls = 60. Girls in CSE = 1/6 of 60 = 10.
- Combine CSE girls from B and C: 30 (from B) + 40 (from C) = 70.
- Now, calculate the ratio: Girls from B and C in CSE compared to girls from D in CSE = 70:10 = 7:1.
- Option 3: 7:1.
