Arctic warmed 3 times faster than Earth

According to the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) report, the Arctic has warmed three times faster than the rest of the planet, and faster than previously thought.
Arctic sea ice seems to be an early victim of rising temperatures. If the earth’s temperature is 2 degrees Celsius (vs. 1.5 degrees Celsius) higher than pre-industrial levels, the probability of complete disappearance in summer is 10 times that of the Arctic.
The publication of the report coincides with the Arctic Council's ministerial meeting in Reykjavik, which brings together countries bordering the region.
From 1971 to 2019, the Arctic's average annual temperature rose by 3.1 degrees Celsius, compared to 1 degree Celsius for the rest of the world.
