  • According to this study, sniffer dogs can help prevent the spread of coronavirus by detecting SARS-CoV2. The study also found that they can reach 88% accuracy in detecting viruses.
  • Scientists from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Durham University collaborated on the study.
  • They believe that dog screening and swab testing can detect 91% of infections.
  • They report that dogs can detect the virus in a few seconds. The traditional COVID test takes 15 minutes to get results. Therefore, in one and a half hours, dogs can screen 300 people together.
  • Therefore, sniffing testing may be a suitable method for large-scale screening.
