The Rajasthan government has launched the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Poverty-Free Village Scheme to empower rural BPL families through financial aid, self-employment support, and social welfare integration. This initiative aims to make villages self-reliant and uplift thousands of families from poverty.

Key Points:

• The scheme was officially launched on July 4, 2025, by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, with a total outlay of ?300 crore for the first phase.
• In Phase 1, the scheme covers 5,000 villages, identifying 30,631 BPL families through surveys aligned with the 2002 BPL Census.
• Eligible BPL families will receive up to ?1 lakh for self-employment and ?15,000 as working capital through SHG support.
• Families that have moved above the poverty line will receive an incentive of ?21,000 and be awarded the Atmanirbhar Parivar Card.
• Districts will be ranked quarterly based on performance, with top districts receiving cash rewards of ?50 lakh, ?35 lakh, and ?25 lakh respectively.
