Article 243G of the Indian Constitution mandates economic development and social justice through an inclusive, community-driven, and holistic planning process of the panchayat system (GPDP), thereby evolving into institutions of local self-governance. • Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) facilitates decentralized planning by the community members of the village. • The Gram Panchayats have been mandated for the preparation of the Panchayat Development Plan (PDP) for economic development and social justice by utilizing the resources available to them. Hence option (d) is the correct answer. o The PDP planning process has to be comprehensive and based on a participatory process that involves the full convergence with schemes of all related Central Ministries/Line Departments related to 29 subjects enlisted in the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution. • Successive Finance Commissions have recommended large distribution of funds to Gram Panchayats.
