The transistor are usually made of
metal oxides with high temperature coefficient of resistivity
metals with high temperature coefficient of resistivity
metals with low temperature coefficient of resistivity
semiconducting materials having low temperature coefficient of resistivity
Metal oxides are used because the phase transition frees electrons from their localized state near each atom, without moving them through the bulk material in case of metal oxides and hence low power consumption occurs. To maintain stability with temperature, metal oxides with high temperature coefficient of resistivity are used to make transistors.
