Tripura emerged the best performer among the northeastern state in e-procurement and was awarded jointly by the Ministry of Finance and Electronic and Information Technology during a workshop at Delhi.

• In addition to that the state was recognized for good performance in various sectors like Soubhagya Yojana, empowerment of panchayats, etc.
• Finance Minister Pranajit Singharoy in a press conference said various departments of the central government have highly appreciated the performance of Tripura in implementing various projects.
• He said the state government has stressed transparency and as part of it has made e-procurement in the purchase of all services and materials above Rs 25,000 mandatory.
• He said e-procurement ensures transparency in purchasing and there is no scope for the suppliers to come together. He said it helps small and medium entrepreneurs to sell their products.
