Indigenously Developed Indian Coast Guard Interceptor Boat ‘C-453’ Commissioned at Chennai

The Indian Coast Guard Ship C-453, was commissioned at Chennai to join the Coast Guard Eastern fleet.
ICGS C-453 is the 17th of the 18 Interceptor Boat (IBs) project indigenously constructed by Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
ICGS C-453 is 27.8-metre-long Interceptor Boat with a displacement of 105 tonnes and Max Speed of 45 knots (85 kmph).
The ship will be deployed extensively for Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) surveillance and other duties as enshrined in the Coast Guard Charter, to safeguard the Maritime interests of India.
With this ship, the Indian Coast Guard now have 157 Ships & Boats and 62 Aircraft.
