Exports of textiles and clothing fell 13.9% in 2022-2023 compared to the previous year. Textiles and apparel accounted for 9.79% of total goods exports in 2021-2022, with $41.3 billion in exports.

• However, in 2022-2023, the segment recorded $35.5 billion in exports and accounted for only 7.95% of total goods exports.
• While clothing exports increased 1.1% last fiscal year ($16.1 billion) over the previous year ($16.01 billion), textile exports decreased 23.3% to $ 19.3 billion. Meanwhile, yarn, textiles, and made-ups imports increased by 26.7%.
