Generally speaking, who are the members of the Gram Sabha?
All the heads of families of the respective villages
All the voters in the respective villages
All adult males in the villages

Gram Sabha consists of all the adult ( above 18) members of a village ( or a cluster of villages). The Gram Sabha or the Panchayats at the appropriate level shall be consulted before making the acquisition of land in the Scheduled Areas for development projects and before resettling or rehabilitating persons affected by such projects in the Scheduled Areas. However, the actual planning and implementation of the projects in the Scheduled Areas shall be coordinated at the state level.
Functions of Gram Sabha: 1) They play a vital role by electing the right candidates as members (Panch) of Gram Panchayats, 2) The keep a check on the activities of Gram Panchayat and influence their decisions for the welfare of the village. 3) They conduct general meetings. Beyond the prescribed minimum number of meetings, they can conduct such meeting as per the needs.
