The Maharashtra State Kaushalya Vidyapeeth has been officially renamed Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Kaushalya Vidyapeeth in recognition of late industrialist Ratan Tata's monumental contributions to industry and skill development.

• Skill development minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha made the announcement on Monday(14 October 2024), stating that the decision honours the industrialist's tireless efforts and support for the growth of new and emerging industries.
• Ratan Tata passed away on October 9 at the age of 86 in the ICU ward of Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. 
• The renaming of the Kaushalya Vidyapeeth is a tribute to his legacy, aligning with the institution's mission to provide skilled manpower to industries and empower the next generation of professionals.
• Earlier, CM Shinde said that Bharat Ratna should be conferred upon Tata in recognition of his role in shaping India's growth story.
