• Mohammad Ali Jinnah, On Friday, 15 August 1947, the Quaid-e-Azam was sworn in as the first Governor-General of Pakistan. The oath was administered by the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Mian Abdur Rashid who later on became the first Chief Justice of Pakistan. A salute of 31 guns was given. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah took over as the first Governor-General of Pakistan.
