India - Maldives agreed to set up transmission interconnection to transfer renewable energy

India and Maldives have agreed to set up a transmission interconnection for the purpose of transferring renewable power between both countries. Overview:

This proposal was discussed during the meeting that was held between R K Singh, India’s Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister, and Aminath Shauna, Maldives’ Environment, Climate Change, and Technology.
The Maldives government’s resolve to achieve a net-zero emission target by the year 2030 was discussed.
Two Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) were proposed during the meeting that was on the transmission interconnection under the One Sun, One World, One Grid (OSOWOG) and the other one was on energy cooperation.
