The Jammu and Kashmir government recently launched a food processing project of Rs 879.75 crores.

• The main objective of the project is to revolutionize the food processing sector.
• The project will increase farmer income, reduce losses incurred during harvest, improve the quality of food products, and ultimately make the food products competitive in the world market.
• In the next five years, the project will build storage infrastructures, food packaging infrastructures, and food processing infrastructures in the region. Also, the project will increase market infrastructure, branding, and transportation & Logistics facilities.
