Raj Bhavan, Goa, will celebrate the foundation day of eight states and five Union territories, on Wednesday( 01 November 2023) , in the presence of former vice-president of India Venkaiah Naidu and Goa governor P S Sreedharan Pillai.

• Eight states— Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Tamil Nadu— and five UTs— Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Puducherry— were formed on November 1. 
• The Goa Raj Bhavan, in association with heads of regional associations of these states and UTs, is commemorating the day as part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme.
• The inaugural event will be followed by a cultural programme.
• This is the third occasion when Goa Raj Bhavan is celebrating the foundation day of other states, after that of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana and West Bengal
