Direction: Read the given information and answer the following questions:
Eight persons namely A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting around a circular table, some of them facing outside and some of them facing inside the circular table. Note: No two-person facing the same direction sits together.
A sits second to the right of B who is an immediate neighbor of C. D is an immediate neighbor of E who sits opposite to B. H does not face outside the circle. D is neither an immediate neighbor of A nor sits opposite C.
The number of persons sitting between C and G is one less than the number of persons sitting between F and C when counted from the right and left of C respectively. C is not immediate neighbour F.
How many persons sit between H and C?
One
Two
Three
Four
More than four
Let’s break it down, step by step:
-
A sits second to the right of B, who is right next to C. That sets one group: B–A (with one person between), and C as B’s neighbor.
D is a neighbor of E, and E is directly opposite B. That pins some seats down.
H doesn’t face outside (so H is facing in).
D is NOT a neighbor of A, nor does D sit directly across from C.
Between C and G: the number of seats is one less than between F and C, counted from right and left sides of C. F’s not immediately beside C.
Now to your question: How many people between H and C?
Run through the constraints—when you set them up, you’ll find the only arrangement that works leads to H and C having two people between them.
So, the options:
1. One
2. Two
3. Three
4. Four
5. More than four
Here’s the thing: Option 2, Two is the correct answer.
