The ratio of income of two person is 5 : 3 and that of their expenditure is 9 : 5. If they save amount Rs. 1300 and Rs. 900 monthly respectively. Find the difference between their yearly Income.
Rs. 80000
Rs. 160000
Rs. 16000
Rs. 19200
Rs. 192000
- Let income of A = 5x, income of B = 3x
- Let expenditure of A = 9y, expenditure of B = 5y
- Savings of A: 5x - 9y = 1300
- Savings of B: 3x - 5y = 900
- Solve the equations:
- (Multiply savings equations appropriately)
- 5x - 9y = 1300
- 3x - 5y = 900
- Multiply 2nd equation by 1.8: 5.4x - 9y = 1620
- Subtract 1st equation: (5.4x - 9y) - (5x - 9y) = 1620 - 1300
- 0.4x = 320 ? x = 800
- Incomes: A = 5x = 4000, B = 3x = 2400 (monthly)
- Yearly difference = (4000-2400) × 12 = 1600 × 12 = 19200
Correct Answer:
Option 4: Rs. 19200
- All statements are stepwise solution to derive incomes, then their difference yearly.
- Option 1, 2, 3, 5 are incorrect as calculated difference matches only option 4.
