Direction: Study the following information carefully and answer the following questions
An uncertain number of person is sitting in a row facing towards North. Q is sitting second from on the extreme ends. S is sitting seventh to the right of M. L is sitting exactly in between Q and S. O is sitting third to the left of R. Only two people are sitting between Q and M. Only one person is sitting between S and O. P is sitting second to the left of N who is sitting fourth to the right of R. R is not an immediate neighbour of S.
How many people are sitting in between L and O?
Five
Seven
Six
Four
None of these
Let’s break this down, step by step:
- Q is second from one end. That tells us Q isn’t at the very edge but close to it.
- S is seven to the right of M. So there are six people in between M and S.
- L is exactly in between Q and S. So L has to sit at the midpoint between Q and S.
- O is third to the left of R.
- Only two people are between Q and M.
- Only one person sits between S and O.
- P is second to the left of N, who is fourth to the right of R.
- R isn’t sitting right next to S.
Now, we’re focused on how many people are between L and O. Even if you line up the pieces, work out the spacing (it’s tight, but doable) — there are six people between L and O.
Option 3, Six, is the correct answer.
