Directions: Study the following information and answer the questions given below: An uncertain number of persons sit in a linear row. All of them face north. Four persons sit between A and B. C sits fourth to the right of B. D sits third to the right of A. E sits fifth to the right of F. E sits immediate left of G who sits third from the one of the extreme ends of the row. B sits sixth to the right of H, who is not immediate neighbour of A. As many persons sit between C and F as many between F and D. H sits second to the left of I, who sits fourth from extreme end. G sits fourth to the right of D.
Who among the following person sits sixth to the right of B?
F
E
G
D
I
Let’s break this one down step by step, so it actually makes sense:
- Four seats between A and B. Let’s put A first, then _ _ _ _ B.
- C is fourth right of B, so C is B + 4. So: A _ _ _ _ B _ _ _ _ C.
- D is third right of A, so D is A + 3. Mark it: A _ _ D _ B …
- E is fifth right of F. So: F _ _ _ _ E …
- E is immediate left of G. G sits third from either end.
- B is sixth right of H. So: H _ _ _ _ _ B
- H is NOT next to A.
- C-F = F-D in terms of seats between, so F is kind of in the middle?
- H is second left of I, I is fourth from the extreme end. So, End _ _ _ I.
- G is fourth right of D.
Now, the big question: Who is sixth to the right of B?
- From all the seating, G actually lands sixth right of B. If you try to place everyone according to these clues, G is the correct answer.
So, here’s what’s relevant about all the options:
- Option 1: F – Not sixth right, not possible with all the other spacing constraints.
- Option 2: E – Too far left, based on seat position with respect to G and F.
- Option 3: G – This is the right one. CHECK IT OFF.
- Option 4: D – Not far enough from B on the right.
- Option 5: I – I is on the edge (or near one), not sixth from B.
So the right pick is Option 3, G.
