- Guru Amar Das was the third Sikh Guru. He is known for organizing the Sikh community better by setting up 22 manjis (seats of administration). He didn't compile the Adi Granth.
- Guru Arjan Dev was the fifth Sikh Guru. He compiled the Adi Granth, the first official edition of the Sikh scripture, in 1604. This was a significant event in Sikh history.
- Guru Ram Das, the fourth Sikh Guru, established the city of Amritsar but didn't compile the Adi Granth.
- Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, later added to the Adi Granth, but he wasn't responsible for the first compilation.
