A sum of Rs 10,200 is invested partly at 8% per annum and remaining at 6% per annum for 3 years at simple interest. If the total interest is Rs 2,124, how much money was invested at 6% per annum?
Rs 4,800
Rs 4,900
Rs 5,200
Rs 5,400
Current Option is 4- Rs 5,400 Total sum, A = Rs 10,200 Rate, R1 = 8% pa Rate R2 = 6% pa Time, T = 3 years Total interest obtained = Rs 2,124 Concept used: Simple interest, SI = PRT/100 Amount, A = Principal, P + SI Calculation: Let the Rs. x invested at 6% per annum. Money invested at 8% per annum = Rs. (10,200 - x) Simple interest in 3 years = Rs. 2,124 Simple interest in 1 years = 2,124/3 = Rs. 708 According to the question x x 6/100 + (10,200 - x) x 8/100 = 708 6x+81600 - 8x = 708 x 100 8x-6x=81600-70800 = 10,800 x = 5400 --Amount invested at 6% pa is Rs 5400.
