A certain sum amounts to Rs15,748 in 3 years at r % p.a. simple interest. The same sum amounts to Rs16,510 at ( R + 2 ) % p.a. simple interest in the same time. What is the value of r ?

Time = 3 years Amount = Rs. 15748
S.I = PTR/100
Calculation:
Extra interest = 16510-15748 ⇒762
According to the question,
Rs. 762 is for extra 2% for 3 years,
So,
(2 × 3)% = Rs. 762 ⇒ 100% = 762 × 100/6 = 12700 i.e principal
So interest for 3 years = 15748-12700 = 3048
So,
3048 12700 x 3 x r/100
8=15
The value of r is 8
