let the cost price is Rs. y. Now Profit = 768 - y

=>x% of y = 768-y
=>xy/100 = 768-y ---- (1)
=>y = 768-xy/100
(x+20)% of y = 896-y
= (xy+20y)/100 = 896-y
⇒y = 896 - (xy/100) - (20y/100)
768 - (xy/100) = 896-(xy/100) - (20y/100)
768=896 - (20y/100)
⇒20y/100 896-768
y = 640

=> 640x/100 = 128
