A person sells an article at a profit of 12%. If he had purchased it for 12% less and sold it for Rs9 less, he would have gained 27%.

- Let the original cost price be Rs x.

- Selling price with 12% profit = x + 12%x = 1.12x

- If cost price were 12% less: new cost price = x - 12%x = 0.88x

- If selling price is Rs9 less: 1.12x - 9

- At this price, profit is 27%: 1.27 × 0.88x = 1.1176x

- So, 1.12x - 9 = 1.1176x

- 1.12x - 1.1176x = 9

- 0.0024x = 9

- x = 9 / 0.0024 = 3750

- So, the correct answer is:
