A train travelling at 44 km/h crosses a man walking with a speed of 8 km/h,in the same direction, in 15 seconds. If the train

crosses a woman coming from the opposite direction in 10 seconds, then what is the speed (in km/h) of the woman?

- Relative Speed with the Man:

- Train speed = 44 km/h

- Man’s speed = 8 km/h

- Relative speed = 44 km/h - 8 km/h = 36 km/h

- Covering the Distance:

- Time = 15 seconds = 15/3600 hours

- Distance = Relative speed × Time = 36 × (15/3600) km

- Distance Calculation:

- Distance = 36 × (15/3600) = 0.15 km

- Relative Speed with the Woman:

- Time = 10 seconds = 10/3600 hours

- Distance = Relative speed × Time

- Relative speed = Distance / Time = 0.15 / (10/3600) = 54 km/h

- Woman’s Speed Calculation:

- Relative speed = Train speed + Woman’s speed = 44 km/h + Woman’s speed

- 54 = 44 + Woman’s speed ? Woman’s speed = 54 - 44 = 10 km/h
