In what ratio must a shopkeeper mix two types of rice worth Rs 60 per kg and Rs 80 per kg, so that the average cost of the mixture is Rs 75 per kg?

Given

Price of first type of rice = Rs. 60 per Kg

Price of second type of rice = Rs. 80 per Kg

The average cost of mixture = Rs. 75 per Kg

Now,

Rule of Allegation = ( Cost of First Type Rice - Average) ÷ ( Average - Cost of Type 2 Rice)

Solution

Ratio of mixing of rice = (80-75)/(75-60)= 5/15= 1/3

The ratio of mixing of rice is 1:3.
