- The candidates must hold Indian Citizenship
- A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
- A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

- The candidate must be 21 Years to 30 Years i.e. candidates must be below 21 years and should be below 30 Years.
SBI PO Eligibility: Number of Attempts
- The SBI has established certain guidelines regarding the number of attempts allowed for the SBI PO 2024 examination. These guidelines are designed to ensure fairness in the selection process and to give candidates a reasonable number of opportunities to compete for the prestigious role of a Probationary Officer. - General/EWS Category Candidates: Generally, candidates belonging to the general category are allowed 4 number of attempts to appear for the SBI PO examination.
- Reserved Category Candidates: For Candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC (Scheduled Castes), ST (Scheduled Tribes), there is no attempt limit.
- OBC/PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) Candidates: PwBD candidates have 7 attempts and age relaxation as per the government guidelines and the specific provisions outlined in the official SBI PO notification.

SBI PO Mains Exam Pattern - Descriptive
The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay)
- Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.
- Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
Interview Process
A candidate who clears both the Prelims & Mains Exam of SBI PO 2023 will be further called for a GD-PI session wherein they will face a panel of selectors discussing their past experience and questions related to General Knowledge and of the Banking Sector. It is essential for a candidate to clear the Interview Process in order to ensure their final selection in the SBI PO 2024 Exam. The qualifying marks for this round will be decided by the Bank and the marks allotted to these rounds are: Group Discussion - 20 marks, Interview - 30 marks
