Aviation enthusiasts will be able to catch a slew of aerial displays involving military aircraft from six air forces – five of them foreign – during the Singapore Airshow 2024, which will run from Feb 20 to 25.

• There will also be two commercial companies participating in aerial displays at the biennial event, which will be held at Changi Exhibition Centre.
• One of them is Chinese aircraft manufacturer Comac, with its C919 making its debut here, while the other is Airbus with its A350-1000.
• This year’s iteration features the largest number of foreign flying teams at a Singapore Airshow, said organiser Experia on Feb 9.
• The first Singapore Airshow was held in 2008.
• The Indian Air Force’s Sarang aerial display team, which flies modified helicopters, will be performing aerial acrobatics for the first time here.
• Alongside them will be the Royal Australian Air Force’s Roulettes, the Indonesian Air Force’s Jupiter, the Republic of Korea Air Force’s Black Eagles, as well as the United States Air Force’s B-52 Stratofortress, which will make a flypast on Feb 22.

In the Tennis Chennai Open ATP Challenger finale, India's top-ranked Sumit Nagal emerged victorious on Sunday and wins his 5th Challenger Title.

•  He defeated Luca Nardi of Italy in the title clash by 6-1 and 6-4. With this, he enters the Top 100 in next week’s ATP Rankings.
• The second-seeded Nagal will be the first Indian man since Prajnesh Gunneswaran in 2019 to breach the top-100 barrier.
• The Chennai Open is the first in a series of ATP Challenger 100 events to be held in India.

• India's Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services were rolled out in Sri Lanka and Mauritius on 12 February during a virtual ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the top leadership of the two island nations. 
• Mauritian PM Pravind Jugnauth and Sri Lanka's President Ranil Wickremesinghe joined Modi at the virtual ceremony.
• The launch of the Indian services in Sri Lanka and Mauritius came amid India's increasing bilateral economic ties with the two countries.

 A single online portal on Indian women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics & Medicine (STEMM) was launched on Sunday(11-02-2024) which could help in policy-making to address the challenges of gender gap in sciences.

The "Science for Women- A Technology & Innovation (SWATI)" Portal is a complete interactive database and the first-of-its-kind in India which is developed, hosted and maintained by the National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), an official statement said here.

This is a dynamically growing portal and the endeavour is to have data of all women scientists of the country available at a click of a button, NIPGR Director Subhra Chakraborty said.

World Unani Day was observed on Sunday at Hamdard University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. World Unani day is celebrated on February 11 in the honour of a famous Indian Unani scholar Hakim Ajmal Khan marking his birth anniversary.

The RBI has increased the ceiling on fees payable to non-executive directors of banks to 30 lakh rupees per year from the existing level of 20 Lakh rupees.

• The revision comes two years after RBI came out with new guidelines for directors as a part of corporate governance, where it capped the remuneration for non-executive directors, excluding the chair of the board.
• RBI said that it revised the celling in recognition of the vital role of non-executive operation of bank boards and their various committees.
