Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has announced the immediate suspension of all Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Turkish educational institutions, citing national security concerns. This decision aligns with similar actions taken by other Indian universities in response to Turkey's support for Pakistan amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

• JMI has suspended all MoUs with institutions affiliated with the Government of Turkey, effective immediately, due to national security considerations. 
• The university's Public Relations Officer, Professor Saima Saeed, emphasized that Jamia stands firmly with the nation and the Government of India. 
• This move follows similar actions by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), which also suspended their MoUs with Turkish institutions. 
• The suspension is a response to Turkey's vocal support for Pakistan during the recent conflict, including the provision of Turkish-made drones to Pakistan. 

The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has urged universities across India to sever academic ties with institutions in Pakistan, Turkey, and Bangladesh due to national security concerns.
