India and Chile have signed the Terms of Reference (ToR) for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) on May 8, 2025, aiming to deepen bilateral trade and cooperation across key sectors.

• India and Chile signed Terms of Reference (ToR) for negotiating a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
• The first round of CEPA talks will be held in New Delhi from May 26–30, 2025.
• The agreement aims to expand trade ties beyond the current Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA).
• Key focus areas include digital services, MSMEs, investment cooperation, and critical minerals like lithium and copper.
• The CEPA gained momentum following Chilean President Gabriel Boric’s state visit to India in April 2025.
