The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has sanctioned the Action Plan 2025 under the River Cities Alliance (RCA), aiming to enhance urban river rejuvenation efforts across 145 cities in India.

This initiative focuses on integrating river-sensitive planning into urban development, promoting sustainable and inclusive growth.

• The Action Plan 2025 outlines a strategic framework for capacity-building, technical support, and collaborative urban governance to incorporate river-sensitive practices into city planning. ?
• The plan includes organizing River-Sensitive Master Planning (RSMP) training programs and formulating Urban River Management Plans (URMPs) for member cities. ?
• Development of technical tools, case studies, expert guidance, and knowledge-sharing platforms are integral components of the initiative. ?
• Special focus is given to cities like Kanpur, Ayodhya, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Moradabad, Bareilly, and Delhi for the development and strengthening of URMPs. ?
