The Indian Navy organised the third edition of its Meteorological and Oceanological Symposium, Meghayan-25, on 14 April 2025. The event marked the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) Day and was held at Nausena Bhawan in New Delhi.

Key points

  1. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, inaugurated the symposium virtually.
  2. The event brought together a wide range of experts, senior naval officers, and representatives from top meteorological and oceanographic organisations in the country.
  3. Among the participating institutions were the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Indian Institute for Tropical Meteorology (IITM), the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), and the Indian Air Force. Organisations like ISRO’s Space Applications Centre (SAC), the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), and IIT Madras also joined the event.
