Maharashtra Introduces Geo-Tagged Unique ID for All Infra Projects

The Maharashtra government has launched a Unique Infrastructure Facility ID (UIFID) system to track and monitor all public infrastructure projects using geo-tagged, 13-digit alphanumeric codes. This aims to ensure transparency, avoid duplication, and streamline billing and planning.

Key Highlights:

  1. Each infrastructure project will receive a unique, geo-tagged 13-digit ID linked to its location and type.

  2. The system is being piloted in Wardha and will be rolled out statewide by October 1, 2025.

  3. Payments will be processed only if the UIFID is included on bills.

  4. The initiative will help prevent project duplication by alerting officials during submission.

  5. All infrastructure data from 2020 to 2025 must be uploaded by March 31, 2026, for centralized monitoring.
