The Maharashtra government has launched a Unique Infrastructure Facility ID (UIFID) system to track and monitor all public infrastructure projects using geo-tagged, 13-digit alphanumeric codes. This aims to ensure transparency, avoid duplication, and streamline billing and planning.
Key Highlights:
-
Each infrastructure project will receive a unique, geo-tagged 13-digit ID linked to its location and type.
-
The system is being piloted in Wardha and will be rolled out statewide by October 1, 2025.
-
Payments will be processed only if the UIFID is included on bills.
-
The initiative will help prevent project duplication by alerting officials during submission.
-
All infrastructure data from 2020 to 2025 must be uploaded by March 31, 2026, for centralized monitoring.
