‘WATAN KO JANO’ PROGRAMME organized at Jammu and Kashmir

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, with funding from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has launched the 'Watan Ko Jano' programme to promote national integration.

  • This initiative exposes children under 18 from government-run homes to the cultural, historical, and technological advancements of other regions in the country.
  • The programme has been effective in fostering unity among India's youth and contributing to a more inclusive society.
  • The government is also implementing various vocational training and skill development programmes, notably Mission Youth and Mission Yuva.
  • These missions aim to empower and enhance the skills of the region's youth, equipping them with the necessary tools and opportunities to excel in various sectors.
  • Under Mission Youth, over 4,290 youth clubs have been established since 2021, engaging more than 2 lakh youth in activities that promote socio-economic development and community participation.
