India lifted their fifth Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship title, defeating Iran 32-25 in the final on Saturday( 8 March) in Tehran, Iran.

• The Asian Games gold medal-winning Indian women’s team extended their dominance.
• This marks two consecutive trophies for India, who also emerged victorious in the previous edition in Gorgan (Iran) in 2017.
• It is worth noting that the only team, apart from India, with an Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championships trophy in their cabinet is South Korea, who finished at the top of the podium in the 2016 Busan edition.
