Renowned playback singer P Jayachandran, affectionately called ‘Bhava Gayakan’ for his soulful renditions that beautifully expressed emotions such as love, longing, and devotion, died in Thrissur on Thursday( 9 January 2025) . He was 80.
- The singer died around 7.55pm while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here, hospital sources said.
- He was taken to the hospital after collapsing at his residence on Thursday, they said.
- He had been unwell for quite some time.
- The singer recorded over 16,000 songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi in a career spanning over five decades.
