ITBP celebrates 63rd Raising ...
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the ITBP Himveers and their families on the occasion of the 63rd Raising Day of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
He praised the Force for its valour and dedication, acknowledging their role in protecting the nation, even in the most challenging terrains and adverse climatic conditions.
PM Modi also commended their efforts during natural disasters and rescue operations, expressing the immense pride they inspire among the people.
ITBP Raising Day
ITBP raising day is observed on 24 October every year to the raising day of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) that has played a crucial role in securing and safeguarding India's border.
Indo-Tibetan Border Police was raised on October 24, 1962 for reorganizing the frontier intelligence and security set up along the Indo-Tibetan border. Only four Battalions were sanctioned to begin with. ITBP was initially raised under the CRPF Act.
