Jose Payammal, a renowned theatre personality from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, passed away in Thrissur at the age of 90. 

• He was 90.
• Payammal has contributed to the theatre field as actor, playwright and director and has been a vibrant presence in the cultural arena of Thrissur.
• He has acted in more than 200 plays, which have had more than 10,000 stages.
• Payammal has also acted in three films and about 30 tele films, though not in major roles. 
• Payammal’s wife Kalalayam Radha is also a noted theatre actor and dance teacher.
